Weekly poll results: the Samsung Galaxy A56, A36 and A26 cost too much for what they offer

Peter, 16 March 2025

Last week’s poll suggests that Samsung’s new mid-range trio, the Galaxy A56, A36 and A26, are facing two major issues – the hardware is good but not great and the prices are too high.

That could be thought of as a single issue since both concerns plug into the value-for-money equation, but the result is the same – people don’t feel like they are getting their money’s worth with these A-series phones.

Let’s start with the Samsung Galaxy A56. It’s pretty clear that most people want to see a discount before considering this phone. It starts at $500/€480 and you can easily find a Galaxy S24 FE for that money. Samsung gradually stripped out the 3.5mm headphone jack and now the microSD slot too. And it still hasn’t added a telephoto camera or a higher-end chipset with more RAM (12GB is limited to only select regions). So why not get the S24 FE?

The Samsung Galaxy A36 is cheaper and we see fewer people asking for a discount – but also fewer people interested in the phone in general. In fact, going by this poll, more people want the A56 than the A36.

The Samsung Galaxy A26 got a mixed reception. Some see it as the best value-for-money option, others call it a recycled design. So, while it may find a few fans, the polls show that it will lose out to the Galaxy A36 and A56 in terms of popularity.

The 2024 generation of the Galaxy A-series was frequently featured in our weekly deals articles and we expect the 2025 models to do the same. It might take a few months – the trio still has that “new phone” smell – but discounts are on the way. Maybe then people will change their opinions on the A26, A36 and A56.

Sure you could see some performance differnce. But nothing much changed in visuals after turning on raytracing. So useless.
