Entire iPhone 17 family to have high refresh rate screens
Apple has so far succeeded in gatekeeping high-refresh rate screens for its Pro smartphones, even as its Android competitors have brought 120 Hz refresh rates to even lower-midrange handsets. Things, however, may finally be changing next year.
According to a new report, the entire iPhone 17 line will have ProMotion displays - ProMotion is Apple's unnecessary trademark for high refresh rate displays.
Unfortunately, it's not clear whether the iPhone 17 will get a 120 Hz refresh rate, like the Pros have been enjoying for years now, or if Apple will try and gatekeep some more and go with 90 Hz for the vanilla model. Regardless, it will be a jump up from 60 Hz and we're all for it, even if the move is several years late.
If this pans out, then the iPhone SE, even the one launching next year, will remain the only new iPhone with a 60 Hz display panel. That seems more palatable seeing as how it's Apple's cheapest iPhone, compared to the $799 and up iPhone 16 sticking with 60 Hz.
Of course we're still quite early in the development cycle of the next-gen iPhones so things could change, but we've heard about the move to ProMotion for the entire iPhone 17 line before so hopefully it stays that way.

You take things to the extreme is your issue. Don’t like Apple by all means, but you are on a whole other level. Makes discussion with you difficult, such fanaticism has that effect.

If he idolises, then you demonise, I fail to see how one is better than the other, they are two sides of the same fanboy/hater coin. Again you exhibit the same conduct you criticise in others, and again you fail to see it. And I am no devotee of Appl...
