Oppo Mirror 5 unveiled, is R1x's little brother

The Oppo R1x brought an interesting reflective pattern on its back, now the Oppo Mirror 5 brings the same triangulated style and with a lower price tag to boot. The Mirror 5 features a bi-metal frame with cross beams to make it sturdy but thin. It measures only 7.7mm though it's not light by any measure at 160g.

The new phone boasts dual-SIM connectivity with micro and nano SIMs and a separate microSD card slot (to upgrade the base 16GB storage). It has LTE connectivity in international and US flavors. Additional connectivity includes Wi-Fi b/g/n (no ac) and an IR blaster.

The Oppo Mirror 5 has a 5" screen, but is a bit behind the R1x with qHD resolution (540 x 960px). The downgrade is the main camera, which shoots at 8MP (down from 13MP). It has an f/2.2 aperture and 1.4µm pixel size and captures 1080p video.

The selfie camera is as hot as ever though with a 5MP sensor and Beautify 3.0 software that pretties you up by taking into account your gender and age among other things. The camera software can also shoot time-lapses, GIFs and double exposures with either camera.

The phone comes with a pleasingly recent Android 5.1 Lollipop skinned with Color OS 2.1. It runs on a Snapdragon 410 chipset with a 1.2GHz quad-core 64-bit processor and 2GB of RAM. A 2,420mAh Li-Po battery is sealed inside the chassis.

By the way, the Oppo Mirror 5s is almost identical, but has a 720p screen.
