Oppo R5s arrives in the United States with $220 promo price tag

Oppo R5s is now available to order in the United States directly from the Chinese manufacturer’s online store. To mark the mid-ranger’s launch Oppo has also given it an attractive $220 price tag until Thursday, August 27.

With a body that’s only 4.85mm thick, Oppo R5s is one of the sleekest smartphones available today. Its specs include a Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 chipset, 3GB of RAM, 32GB of built-in memory, and 5.2” 1080p AMOLED display.

At $220, the R5s appears to be a no-brainer to pick over Moto G (3rd gen). However, it is important to note that the newcomer lacks support of 4G LTE bands in the United States. The smartphone is also running Color OS 2.0 that’s based on a rather old Android KitKat.

I have it more fine grained: 1. low range: -150$ (cheap chinese phones, Moto E,...) - anything with SD200 2. low-mid: 150-250$ (Moto G, Samsung S3 Neo, Oppo R5s,...) - anything with SD410, IMHO it's pretty good 3. mid: 250-350$ (LG G2, Moto X,....

Budget. Moto can sell it for $300+ and fools would still buy it. I know specs is not everything but there are phone out there doing same thing at a more pocket friendly price.

Depends how you see it. For me a phone carrying SD410 is a budget phone as simple as that. Just because they priced it higher doesn't mean it is any better than let's say Redmi 2.
