Enterprise-focused Panasonic Eluga Mark with 5.5-inch display launched

Panasonic has updated its Eluga lineup in India with the launch of a new smartphone. Dubbed Eluga Mark, the device is aimed at enterprise users, offering support for enterprise mobility management (EMM) platform Android for Work.

The handset is powered by a Snapdragon 615 SoC, and sports a 5.5-inch (720x1280 pixel resolution) IPS display. It comes with 2GB RAM and 16GB expandable internal memory, and packs in a 2,500mAh battery. In terms of camera, the Eluga Mark features a 13MP rear unit and a 5MP front shooter. It runs Android 5.1 Lollipop with the company's FitHome UI on top. There's also a fingerprint scanner at the back.

"With the growing use of smartphones for a wider range of high-risk activities such as access to cloud data and private information, mobile security is a top priority for users," said Pankaj Rana, Business Head – Mobility Division, Panasonic India. "This control-sensitive device, which achieves complex tasks with the press of a finger or a swipe of the thumb, is personalized for the user and protects the smartphone investment."

The device carries a price tag of INR 11,990 ($180) in India, and will be available for purchase through both online and offline retail channels in the country. Color options include Royal Gold or Metallic Grey.
