Nixon aims at surfers and snowboarders with its Mission Android Wear watch

Himanshu, 16 March, 2016

Lifestyle and apparel company Nixon has announced its first smartwatch powered by Google's Android Wear platform. Dubbed Mission, the timepiece is being claimed to be the world's first action sport smartwatch.

On the software-side, the Mission comes bundled with apps powered by Surfline, Snocountry, and Trace. These apps are geared to action sports, allowing activity-tracking as well as letting the watch to receive real-time information.

Specs-wise, the round-faced rugged smartwatch is powered by Snapdragon Wear 2100 chipset, and sports an AMOLED display with Gorilla Glass protection. The Mission will be available later this year for about $400. The device will be offered in multiple color options and with as many as 20 bands to choose from.

Wrong. The display in that Nixon video is superimposed on, you can tell! It'a way too bright and larger than that in their own product shots, It's got a large bezel area. Just look at the photos above these comments! :)
