Tesla has already received 232K pre-orders for its Model 3 electric car

Less than a couple of days after Tesla announced its upcoming Model 3 car, the company has already received a whopping 232,000 pre-orders for the electric vehicle. This was revealed by CEO Elon Musk in a tweet today.

The number was 180,000 exactly a day after the announcement, with an average cost of $42,000 per vehicle. In case you aren't already aware, the Model 3 starts at $35,000.

While over 232K pre-orders in such a short span is definitely good news for Tesla, this has also posed a challenge for the company given that it delivered a total of just over 50k units last year.

... and Musk knows this.
