Marshmallow starts hitting Galaxy S5 Plus as well

Himanshu, 10 May, 2016

With the Galaxy S5 smartphone receiving the Marshmallow update in several regions around the world, Samsung - it seems - has now shifted its attention to the Plus variant, as the update is now available for units (SM-G901F) in Germany.

Launched back in 2014 as a Snapdragon 805-powered variant of the Galaxy S5 flagship, the S5 Plus received the Android Lollipop update back in March last year. The latest update brings Android version 6.0.1 to the device, and bumps the build number to G901FXXU1CPE1.

Currently, the update is only available through Samsung Smart Switch. However, it shouldn't be long before the OTA rollout begins. Meanwhile, if you are feeling impatient, you can manually check for the update by heading to your device's Settings menu.

Do not update...is absolutely garbage! Freezes constantly, doesn't record calls anymore...battery is at least 20% less. I am planning to roll back

Don't lie! My S5 Plus G901F still doesn't have any update. Why are the countries relevant if it's the SAME phone model??
