Samsung Galaxy Tab A 10.1 (2016) is now official

George, 11 May, 2016

The Samsung Galaxy Tab A 10.1 (2016) has made the next logical step from yesterday's full reveal, and is now official. As you can imagine, the final specs are entirely the same as the ones leaked yesterday.

That means a 10.1-inch display with 1,920x1,200 pixel resolution. The technology is Samsung's own PLS (Plane to Line Switching), a variation of the popular IPS panels.

On the inside, an octa-core 1.6GHz processor churns, and even if it's not mentioned explicitly in the press release, it more than likely means the Exynos 7870 with 8 Cortex-A53 cores. RAM is 2GB, and internal storage is 16GB. It's expandable, and the specs read a 200GB maximum, but if we were to guess, it will likely take the 256GB microSD card Samsung just outed.

You get a 2MP f/2.2 front camera and an 8MP f/1.9 rear shooter, which you should generally avoid using on a 10-inch device. Both can capture 1080p video. The device measures 155.3 x 254.2 x 8.2mm and weighs 525g. Battery capacity is rated at 7,300mAh.

Two versions will be available, the Wi-Fi only one will be priced at €289. Having cellular connectivity on top of that will bring the total cost to €349.

Samsung just doesn't care that people want a Note 10.1 and not a low or mid grade device, we want a top of the line one.
