Samsung is working on a new Game Launcher experience

Vlad, 15 June, 2016

According to a new rumor on the matter, Samsung is busy working on a big overhaul for its Game Launcher app that has shipped with the Galaxy S7 and S7 edge. This apparently comes as part of a newfound focus on mobile gaming from the Korean company.

When it launches, the new version of Game Launcher will contain Game Scene, a full-screen section which will list all of your installed games in a tile format. There will also be a separate area housing game notifications.

Trending games will be showcased in another dedicated area. You'll be able to mark games as favorites, or pin non-favorites to their current locations in the list. Speaking of which, the list can be sorted in various ways, and manual arrangement is possible too. Apps, web links, and images will be listed in Game Scene too, and you'll be able to subscribe to specific YouTube channels providing video walkthroughs, for example.

The Game Tools floating button inside games will show battery percentage, free storage space, and the amount of RAM used. Finally, recording your gameplay and sharing those recordings onto the social network of your choice will become easier, the rumor says.
