Honor 5C arrives in Europe sans fingerprint sensor

Himanshu, 21 June, 2016

Inline with the expectations, Huawei has launched the Honor 5C smartphone in Europe. The device was only available in Asia so far (specifically China). There's, however, a difference between the Asian and European models: the latter doesn't come with a fingerprint scanner.

Huawei says this was done to keep the pricing aggressive. The phone carries a price tag of £149 in the UK and €199 for the rest of Europe. It's now available for purchase through the Chinese company's official online store in Europe.

Third party retailers like Expansys and Clove are currently accepting pre-orders for the Honor 5C, while Amazon is expected to start carrying it soon. As for carriers, the handset will be a Three-exclusive, with launch set for August this year.
