HTC Desire 530 headed to the US, costs $179 off contract

HTC announced the HTC Desire 530 is coming to the USA later this month. The entry-level smartphone should appeal to the youth with its exclusive micro-splash paintjob and attractive pricing.

The HTC Desire 530 features a 5" 720p display and runs on the Snapdragon 210 chip with a quad-core 1.1GHz CPU and 1.5GB of RAM. There is 16GB of expandable storage, an 8MP rear cam, and a 5MP selfie snapper. Android Marshmallow is in charge of the Desire 530.

Both T-Mobile and Verizon will be offering the Desire 530 on pre-paid and regular contract. The carriers will announce their color choices and exact pricing later this month near the premiere of the phone. The companies must choose between Blue Lagoon, Sprinkle White or Stratus White.

T-Mobile has already listed the Desire 530 in Sprinkle While on its website as Coming Soon, while Verizon is yet to do so.

HTC.com will be also selling the Sprinkle White Desire 530 contract-free and carrier-unlocked later this month for $179.

There must be a typo, $79 sounds more like it.
