Apple's AirPods are finally available for purchase

Kaloyan, 13 December 2016

Apple ditched the analog jack on the latest iPhone gen in a self-described bold move to innovate the headphones. The offspring of this controversy is the even more controversial Apple AirPods pair of wireless EarPod-like earbuds priced at $159/£159/€179.

Today, more than three months after the announcement, the Apple AirPods are finally hitting the shelves. Well, the virtual ones at least.

You can buy those at the company's online shops around the world, though they will ship in one to four weeks, so not everyone can use those as a last-minute Christmas present. The UK delivery time is set at December 19, but the US has to wait 4 full weeks for shipping.

The expensive and unconventional AirPods turned quite difficult for Apple to produce - they were initially scheduled for a late October launch. Hopefully the delay means that we'll be getting a polished product worth the hefty investment.

And if you really want a pair you should probably hurry up, as those are apparently depleting as you are reading these lines.

I have a feeling that these AirPods will be as bad as their $100 headphones. I will stick to my bose.
