T-Mobile's Galaxy Note 4 receives November security update

George, 20 December 2016

T-Mobile has started seeding the November security patch for the Samsung Galaxy Note 4. The update comes two weeks after we heard the same thing happening for the carrier version of the Galaxy Note5.

The update measures a rather tiny 60MB and is obviously still based on Android Marshmallow (Note 4 in general is likely to get Nougat, but not before the Galaxy S7s and Note5, and certainly not starting with T-Mo units). While the report covers the Note 4 in particular, the Note Edge does tend to walk hand in hand, so it may be getting it as well.

Mind you, the T-Mobile support pages for both smartphones still list the latest release date as October 24, so those remain to be updated as well.
