Moto G5 and G5 Plus official renders and full specs leak ahead of MWC unveiling

It's long been rumored that Lenovo would unveil the Moto G5 and G5 Plus midrangers at its MWC event in Barcelona, and this is pretty much confirmed now by a new leak. What's more, you don't need to wait until February 26 to find out everything about these two smartphones - we've got all the information for you right here, courtesy of a Colombian retailer that had their listings up prematurely for a short while today. Oh, and yes, there are official press renders to gawk at too.

The Moto G5 Plus will be the higher-end model of the two, as you'd expect. It will come with a 5.2-inch 1080p touchscreen with Gorilla Glass 3, a 12 MP main camera with dual autofocus pixels, a 5 MP selfie snapper, the Snapdragon 625 chipset at the helm, 2GB of RAM, 64GB of expandable storage, NFC, a water repellent coating, a fingerprint sensor, and a 3,000 mAh battery with support for "TurboPower" charging. Its dimensions are 150.2 x 74 x 7.9mm, and it weighs 155g. It runs Android 7.0 Nougat.

The Moto G5, on the other hand, has to make do with a 5-inch 1080p touchscreen, a 13 MP rear camera, a 5 MP front-facing shooter, the Snapdragon 430 chipset, 2GB of RAM, 32GB of expandable storage, no NFC, and a 2,800 mAh battery with 10W rapid charging. It's also got the fingerprint scanner and water repellent coating, and runs Android 7.0 Nougat like its sibling. Its dimensions are 144.3 x 73 x 9.5mm, and it weighs 145g.

As you can see from the images, the G5 Plus has a camera hump, while the G5 doesn't. Both devices will be offered in Lunar Grey and Fine Gold. They both have a "precision-crafted" aluminum design and the G5 sports a Lenovo logo on the side - not something we've seen before in the mobile world.

Since it appears that retailers are pretty much ready to sell the G5 and G5 Plus, we assume that they will become available very soon after the official announcement. Pricing is still a mystery, but with those specs do expect mid-range levels of course.
