Samsung Galaxy S8 impresses partners after a brief demo

Yordan, 06 March 2017

You probably saw some of the live shots of the long-awaited Samsung Galaxy S8 we reported earlier today or the previous week or the week before that. Some Samsung partners were luckier than us though and get to handle the real thing rather than relying solely on leaks. They saw the device in a demonstration room in a Barcelona hotel and commented that it is “very impressive.”

During the Mobile World Congress in the Spanish city, Samsung had a Galaxy S8 prototype for partners to check out and according to Korean news outlet The Korea Herald everyone was very pleased with what they saw. Naturally all the lucky testers signed an NDA, so none could reveal any specifics about the Galaxy S8.

The Galaxy S8 Unboxing event was officially confirmed at the end of the Samsung Galaxy Tab S3 announcement. The flagship will break loose on March 29 simultaneously in New York and London. It is expected to come with iris recognition; an AI assistant named Bixby with a dedicated button and with no front-mounted fingerprint scanner which finds its place on the back, next to the camera.

There’s no official info on the pricing yet.

With a bigger screen+smaller bezels being the focus this year for the S8, they can skip on improving other areas such as camera, ram, battery, while doing the expected standard yearly upgrade to speed. I don't think Samsung will be brave enough again...
