BlackBerry Aurora will be unveiled tomorrow in Indonesia, out on March 16

TCL may hold the license for making BlackBerry-branded smartphones to be sold in most of the world, but some markets are excepted. One of those is Indonesia, where local company BB Merah Putih will be developing, marketing, and selling its own BlackBerry-branded phones.

The first one of those is called Aurora, and we've already seen it leaked in a press render not long ago. BB Merah Putih is making the Aurora official at an event tomorrow, ahead of the handset's shipping date of March 16. If you're in Indonesia you can already order one from retailers such as Dinomarket, and the price has been set at IDR 3.499 million, which right now translates into roughly $261 or €248.

For that amount of cash you're getting a smartphone running Android 7.0 Nougat. The Aurora has a 5.5-inch 720p touchscreen, a 13 MP rear camera, an 8 MP selfie shooter, the Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 chipset at the helm (with a 1.4 GHz quad-core Cortex-A53 CPU), 4GB of RAM, 32GB of expandable storage, dual-SIM functionality, 4G LTE support, and a 3,000 mAh battery. It will be offered in black, silver, and gold. Its dimensions are 152 x 76.8 x 8.5 mm, and it weighs 178g.
