Apple BlackOut Dates announcement suggests timely iPhone launch

Yordan, 25 May 2017

An Apple memo leaked on Twitter, revealing that the Cupertino-based company is setting Black Out Days between September 17 and November 4 due to the new product announcements in September. The memo said:

Black Out Days means that advisors and leaders will be restricted from requesting days for time off. The company unquestionably is expecting a huge demand for the new devices, because the memo ends with the straightforward “absences are unacceptable”.

“In order to support our client during this very important time of year, we will be implementing Black Out Days in all AppleCare programs for Advisors and Leaders.”

Mid-September is the period when the iPhone 8 will launch. Chances are pre-orders will begin the week following September 17.

Shipping normally starts two weeks after that with Apple, but the company expects interest to remain high for more than a month, which points to one of two things. Either the upgrade will be so major that catching up with initial demand will be tough or one of the devices will simply launch a bit later than the others..

The authenticity of the note is hard to verify - it has some grammar errors and is leaked by Benjamin Geskin who is famous with his renders of smartphones that are not always accurate with the later released devices. So don't get your hopes too high just yet.
