Xiaomi Mi 5X scores over 100,000 registrations already

Vlad, 18 July 2017

Earlier today we found out that Xiaomi plans on unveiling the Mi 5X at an event on July 26, when it will also make the latest version of its Android skin, MIUI 9, official. Now, just a few hours later, we can tell you that people in China seem to be extremely interested in the Mi 5X.

That's because the company's official online store for the country has already logged more than 100,000 registrations for the handset's first flash sale. 139,359, to be exact. Keep in mind that this has happened without anything official about the device being outed, except for a few promotional images that show its back with dual rear cameras and a fingerprint scanner. On the other hand, registering this early means you can win a smartwatch or the Mi 5X itself if you're lucky enough, so that may have had a lot to do with the large number of interested people.

The Mi 5X might come with a 5.5-inch 1080p touchscreen according to past rumors. It will supposedly be powered by the Snapdragon 625 chipset, aided by 4GB of RAM. Prices could start at CNY 1,999 (that's $295 or €255).

The openning video of the phone only show the photography experience, sadly that it had mention on specification though. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VCQpMana09Q
