Samsung brings Galaxy J3 and J7 to the States on July 28

Samsung has brought two new unlocked smartphone models into the US to compete with others in the online-retail unlocked demographic (though not a popular one, it has been steadily growing). The Galaxy J3 and Galaxy J7 will be available in “major retailers and enterprise distributors” and from Samsung.com

The Galaxy J3 (J3 Emerge in other markets) has a 5-inch 720p TFT screen with a 1.5GHz RAM + 16GB storage combo. There’s a quad-core CPU and 5MP/2MP rear and front shooters. The J3 has a 2600 mAh battery. By contrast, the Galaxy J7 (Galaxy J7 V in other markets)has a larger 5.5-inch screen with 2GB of RAM, an 8MP/5MP back and front camera combo, and a larger 3300 mAh battery with octa-core CPU, the other specs remain the same. Both models offer expandable storage up to 256GB via microSD. Also, neither model has a fingerprint scanner.

Both the Galaxy J3 and Galaxy J7 can be purchased in the US starting on July 28 both in stores and online. The Galaxy J3 is $149 while the Galaxy J7 is going to run $219.
