Huawei Mate 10 will have "full-screen display", CEO says while revealing exit from the low-end

Huawei's next flagship phablet will be called Mate 10, just as anticipated. This has been confirmed today in an interview by Richard Yu, the chief of Huawei's consumer division. He also said it would come with a "full-screen display", which we take to mean "near bezelless", joining the defining trend of 2017 in the smartphone world.

Such an edge-to-edge screen was rumored for the Mate 10 at the beginning of this month, and now it's pretty much a given. We've also heard that the phablet would be powered by the upcoming Kirin 970 chipset, but Yu stayed mum on that one. He did however promise that the Mate 10 would have "longer battery life", as well as "quicker charging speed, better photographing capability" compared to Apple's next iPhone.

Additionally, Yu announced that Huawei will be giving up on the low-end of the smartphone market, ceasing to produce such handsets because "the margin in this is extremely low, and it’s not making enough profit". So in the future expect to only see mid-range and high-end Huawei smartphones.

Well those can be counted as half but that exactly means half the size (or even a quarter) of most of smartphone today... But i imagine "full-screen" *pffttt* means that the screen can display 100% image on the screen. So it means that according...

I personally don't rely on gsmarena's battery life tests/endurance tests and their rankings. Majority of smartpone users are actually using their phones purely, or at least mostly on mobile LTE data; not WIFI or 3G. Nothing in gsmarena's battery endu...
