Apple Watch Series 3 LTE version plagued with connectivity issues

Peter, 21 September 2017

The Apple Watch Series 3 has an LTE version – it was the major change in this generation. But it turns out that this headlining feature isn’t ready for the spotlight yet.

The review units that Apple sent out have issues when they strike out on their own – when connectivity to the phone is lost, the Watch would try to connect to unauthenticated Wi-Fi networks rather than jump on LTE.

“We have discovered that when Apple Watch Series 3 joins unauthenticated Wi-Fi networks without connectivity, it may at times prevent the watch from using cellular,” an Apple spokesperson told The Verge. “We are investigating a fix for a future software release.”

The Apple Watch Series 3 is currently on pre-order and goes on sale in the first wave of countries tomorrow, September 22.

So you have an apple watch then, you seem to know so much about how it works!! I have a series 2 and it is by far and away the best wearable I have ever owned both through function and design. Does not perform like a toy.
