Google confirms Android Auto pixelated display issue

For past several months, Android Auto users have been complaining about an issue that causes the display on their car's head unit appear to be very pixelated. Following is a screenshot shared by one of the complainants:

Going by user reports, the problem doesn't seem to be specific to any particular car manufacturer or model. Similarly, complaints have been coming from users with different phones (mostly Pixel though) running OS versions ranging from Nougat to Oreo.

What's good is that Google has finally confirmed the issue, saying they are working with the Android OS team to address it. Following is exactly what a Google employee said on the matter:

Sadly, there's currently no information on what's causing the problem and when a fix will begin rolling out.

Hahah cause Android as OS is crap Java emulator that run in weak core.

Nope only Android I’m using iOS 11.2.2 on my iPad mini 4 no issue.

Im experiencing this too on 2017 VW Tiguan and galaxy s8. most of the times unplugging and plugging the device sort it out.
