Oreo update rolling now to the Galaxy S8 and S8+ on Verizon

Enrique, 15 March 2018

First the LG V30 and now the Galaxy S8 and S8+ are receiving the Android 8.0 Oreo update along with the Samsung Experience 9.0. Verizon was quick to update these two flagships before other carriers in the US.

DroidLife received a couple of tips from readers that they have received notifications to update their Galaxy S8 and S8+ to Android Oreo. The update has a build number of G955USQU2CRB9 (S8+) which includes some standard Android Oreo features along with picture-in-picture and auto fill features.

The update seems to be rolling out pretty slowly so be patient if you don’t get it right away. You can try to download the update by heading into the Settings -> System update. Let us know if you were able to download the update in the comments.

Got the OREO update on my s8. I live in Trinidad and Tobago and running the 950U 03/15/18

What if I'm a traveling to Europe Verizon customer? Ever heard of roaming? By the way, you can use any sim with s8 Verizon version.

Thanks for alert, although phone set to auto update, a manual click brought up Oreo. I’m on BT/EE in U.K. Although a 1.3 GB file, the phone ended up with more free space than before.
