Google allows Android Auto phones to be unlocked while being connected to car

Himanshu, 17 March 2018

If you are an Android Auto user, you must be knowing that it's not possible to use the phone when it's connected to Google's in-car infotainment service. Well, that's changed now, as the company has lifted this restriction.

Yes, now you can just swipe up and unlock your phone even when it's connected to Android Auto.

Google says the change is aimed at allowing passengers to use the phone (without causing any distraction to the driver). Not only that, even drivers can use their phone now when the car isn't in motion

Sometimes, you've got to use the phone whilst driving. I like checking the traffic on Google maps whilst driving

Useful, sometimes driver needs to check something with a phone and passenger easely can do it for him
