OnePlus 6 leaks in new hands-on photos

Victor, 02 May 2018

Two weeks or so from now, OnePlus will finally be taking the wrapping off the eagerly-anticipated OnePlus 6. Yet leaks have been a bit scarcer than one would expect. While it's pretty safe to assume that the design of the new device won't stray too much from the Oppo R15 some changes are to be expected and we are eager to find out what they are

A new leak shows some live images of a OnePlus 6 unit. These mostly focus on the front panel of the device, with no real surprises in store. Sadly, the photos don't show the back of the unit, so we can't confirm the rather recognizable camera module and fingerprint reader arrangement.

What is visible is the bottom side of the OnePlus 6, which seems to differ from the one on the Oppo R15, mainly in the inclusion of a USB Type-C connector. A OnePlus-specific button arrangement can also be made out from one of the stills, featuring the familiar mode switch button on the left-hand side, above the volume rockers.

A newer USB connector will be far from the only thing to differentiate the OnePlus 6, from its Oppo siblings. It is expected to boast a similar 6.28" 2,280x1,080 display complete with a notch, but it will be powered by a Snapdragon 845 SoC with up to 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage.

A 3,450 mAh battery will sit under the hood, while the dual rear camera system might be different from what we saw on the R15 and the OnePlus 5T. As per an official teaser, the latter will feature some kind of super slow motion recording - likely 720p@960fps.
