Week 20 in review: OnePlus 6, Nokia X6, vivo X21i and Oppo Realme1 are official

Ivan, 20 May 2018

This was a big week for phone announcements. For the previous two weeks or so we have seen plenty of leaks and rumors all leading up to the past few days.

For starters the OnePlus 6 was made official at an event in London on Wednesday. But before that we got a few big leaks detailing much of what was eventually announced.

The Nokia X6 was also announced with a 5.8-inch IPS LCD and a notch. It's trying to step on the iPhone X's toes thanks to its similar look, vanilla Android backed with Nokia's brand recognition and far more attractive price.

Oppo unveiled its Realme sub-brand and the Realme 1 smartphone. Realme is Oppo's way of challenging Xiaomi's domination in the mid-range.

Finally, vivo introduced the latest member of its X series - the X21i. It follows the X21 almost spec for spec but has chosen a Helio P60 chipset in favor of the Snapdragon 660 and doubles the selfie camera resolution to 24MP.

A big leak revealed all there is to know about the upcoming HTC U12+. We expect the phone to be made official next week.

Samsung made some headlines, too. It briefly suspended the Oreo update to the Galaxy S7 and S7 edge because of issues and released two new colors options for the Galaxy S9 duo - Sunrise Gold and Burgundy Red.

See you again next week!
