Deal: Samsung Galaxy S9 and S9+ with a free Gear 360 (2017) camera

You may have noticed some YouTubers switching to 360° cameras – the great thing about them is that you get to rotate the camera around in post-production. Or maybe you want to shoot videos for VR headsets, either way capturing omnidirectional video can be cool.

Best Buy is currently running a promotion that will net you a free Samsung Gear 360 (2017) camera if you buy a Galaxy S9 or Galaxy S9+. The retailer lists the camera at $170, though if you wait for a promo you can get it as low as $100. -Still, a $100 for free is nothing to sneeze at.

The Galaxy S9 is $670 unlocked (64 GB) while the S9+ is $790. If you sign up with Verizon, AT&T or Sprint, you’re looking at $20.50 and $25.50 a month respectively for a 24-month contract (Sprint offers lower prices for new accounts).

A bit more about the Gear 360 (2017) camera – it records 4K at 30 fps video to a microSD card. It has two 8.4 MP sensors with wide-angle lenses that combine to capture the full 360°. The camera is dust and splash proof (IP53).
