vivo NEX rumor roundup: pricing for both models, some photos and a benchmark

Peter, 11 June 2018

The vivo NEX phones will show that there’s no need for notches, even if a phone has thin bezels. The base model will be powered by Snapdragon 710 while NEX S will be the flagship with the top S845 chip.

Early information from the rumor mill suggests that the base model will cost CNY 3,800 ($590/€500) while the S flagship will be CNY 4,500 ($700/€600). That’s with 8 GB of RAM and a generous 256 GB of storage for the Snapdragon 845 version. Don’t forget that the NEX S will be the only version with an under display fingerprint reader.

The defining feature of the NEX phones, a feature shown off in the APEX prototype, is the selfie camera periscope. It pops up under its own power when needed and hides away when not needed. Check out these live shots of the phone for a better look at its design.

And a (very) short video:

We’ve seen some of the specs before, including the large 6.59” screen (1,080 x 2,316 px) and a substantial 4,000 mAh battery. We’ve seen the NEX S with the Snapdragon 845 benchmarked in Geekbench, now here are the scores for the base vivo NEX model.

Finally someone takes the xiamo route and creates nice designs. Still only import phones, but hell they are far ahead of Samapple and Huawei.

77mm is alot, you can't hold that comfortably for longer times with one hand.. and i dont have small hands either.. I had xiaomi mi 5plus for a while with ~75mm and I know what I'm saying.. 70mm is as max as it gets to do 1 hand gestures.

what screen problem? the only problem i could find are thr usual oled display problem that also found on samsung's and lg's screen. the reason i dislike recent trend are because the front has both chin and notch. why can't oems just pick one?
