Oppo R17 price revealed ahead of launch

Yordan, 20 August 2018

Oppo listed the R17 on its official website last week with a dummy price of CNY99,999. Today the cost was fixed and the company announced on Weibo how much the phone will actually set you back. The version with 8 GB RAM and 128 GB storage will be CNY3,499 which is nearly $510/€450.

The price tag of the Oppo R17 is the same on the Oppo’s official online store and major Chinese retailers JD.com, Tmall, and Suning. They all have the phone available for pre-order/reservations, waiting for the actual launch. The event will take place in Shanghai on August 23, but fans should wait a week more until August 30 when the device will be finally launched.

The Oppo R17 has a 6.4” Waterdrop screen with AMOLED panel and Snapdragon 670. It will come with a 25 MP selfie shooter, embedded in the tiny notch and a fingerprint scanner under the display. The 3,500 mAh battery comes with USB-C port and VOOC support. The phone is available for pre-order in two sleek colors - Stream Blue and Neon Purple, both of them changing under different lighting.

As usual... the overpriced oppo. Also, late software update. If you want looks and appearance you may consider this phone. But wait until terrible after-sale and update spit on your face.

OnePlus 6T will cost about 50$ extra than R17 for the base Model... 550$ or 560$... By that the chances of increase in storage are possible... For base model 128GB and upper version will have a 256GB...

Xiaomi cheaply built? Seen the Mi Mix 2s with that ceramic-coated back and wireless charging? Xiaomi aside, OnePlus has an 845 phone for 20 more bucks and Asus for cheaper than this if you don't need OLED
