Xiaomi Mi Mix 3's slide-out camera allegedly shown on video (but there's a catch)

Peter, 03 September 2018

After Honor teased the Magic 2 with a pop-up camera, Xiaomi’s co-founder was quick to reveal that the Mi Mix 3 will have a similar design, both taking after the Oppo Find X. That may not be the whole story, however.

A short video that shows a Xiaomi Mi Mix 3 being handled reveals that the mechanism is manual. It appears to be a slider design with the bottom “half” sliding up to reveal the earpiece, selfie camera and other gadgetry.

That’s not how the Find X camera works, that one is motorized. But this could be the more reliable design in the long run. Of course, we're still not sure that this is the real device. For reference, here's the image posted by the Xiaomi boss:

I agree with that

At least they didn't put the FFC at the bottom like they did with the other two which was the worst position ever .

It not impossible at all I had a Sony Ericsson phone that did the same thing slide up and down like that if they could get a case in the 90's they could get one today.
