Oppo PBCM30 appears with Snapdragon 660 on Geekbench, will likely be called K1

Oppo is having a launch party on October 10 for a new device that we already know a lot about. The phone with the model number PBCM30 appeared on TENAA with 2 GHz CPU. We knew it shares much of its hardware with the Oppo R17 and the overall footprint of the Oppo R15, but it's only about time that we learn its name and actual chipset.

The device has appeared at Geekbench over the weekend, giving us a glimpse of its performance, as well as unveiling the Snapdragon 660 chipset. According to some rumors the phone will be called Oppo K1 and will be positioned as a more affordable alternative to the Oppo R17.

The PBCM30 model has 6 GB RAM, but we already knew that from the TENAA listing that popped up last month. There will be also PBCM10 and PBCT10 versions, that will likely have different RAM and storage.

Other specs include a dual 16 MP + 2 MP camera on the back and a single 25 MP selfie shooter. There is a 6.4” AMOLED panel, suggesting a fingerprint scanner underneath it, while the resolution is 2,340 x 1,080 pixels with an extremely tall ratio of 19.5:9. It is the very same panel as the Oppo R17 Pro, but we are yet to see the size of the notch.

We still have 10 more days until the phone is unveiled, but we expect the rumor mill to keep going and eventually unveil the most crucial details - pricing and availability.
