Price of Realme 2 in India goes up by 5%, Realme C1's price increased by 14%

The Realme 2 and Realme C1 were announced at the end of August at INR 9,000 and INR 7,000 respectively. Those prices didn’t last, however, they’ve been bumped up.

The Realme 2 (3/32GB) now costs INR 9,500 ($130/€115) while the 4/64GB version remains at INR 11,000 ($150/€132). Meanwhile the C1 has gone up to INR 8,000 ($110/€96).

Note that these prices are still listed as discounts from the MSRP – INR 10,000 for the base Realme 2 and INR 9,000 for the C1. This means that further increases in price are quite possible.

A few days ago Realme’s CEO tweeted that “rupee rates are falling”. Components for mobile phones are bought in USD, so conversion rates can have a huge impact on a company working on razor-thin margins.

The prices of the Realme 2 and C1 in Indonesia are unaffected – they remain at IDR 2,000,000 and IDR 1,400,000, respectively.
