HTC midranger receives Wi-Fi certification

HTC might be struggling to turn around its smartphone division's sales, but it hasn't given up yet Last week a phone with the model number HTC 2Q72XXX with Snapdragon 435 received Bluetooth certification and it might be joining the ranks soon.

Today, info from the Wi-Fi Alliance revealed the phone will be Wi-Fi certified for the 2.4 GHz b/g/n bands and will have Android 8.1 Oreo.

With the model number being revealed, the phone is easily discoverable at Geekbench, which confirmed it to have 3 GB of RAM. The benchmark listing also lists the OS and chipset.

While we know some of the phone’s basics, HTC is still quiet about any announcement whatsoever. We are trying to find out more about it and will keep you updated once new info comes in.

3 gigs of ram and SD 435 should make a lot of people happy as my SD 400 device performs adequately for my usage pattern. I sure hope they get the price right this time.

They can't compete. Worst update support is big downside for them. Even Xiaomi is doing better.
