OnePlus 6T gets a better DxO score than the OnePlus 6

Ivan, 20 December 2018

The DxOMark lab has concluded testing on the OnePlus 6T and the results are in - a 98 overall score which is 2 points higher than the OnePlus 6 and a tie with the Google Pixel 2 for the seventh spot.

The score breaks down into a 101 in imaging and 91 for video.

The photo score is punctuated by great autofocus, very good dynamic range , good detal and good bokeh. DxO notes that the OnePlus 6T has improved slightly on the dynamic range of its predecessor and also captured slightly more detail.

The only points deducted from the OnePlus 6T score are for the slightly higher noise levels and the presence of some halos due to a strong HDR effect. The secondary zoom camera is not up to par with phones that have dedicated second snappers. Of course we know that the second camera on the 6T is not a 2x one.

Videos are commended for their reliable and fast autofocus, great dynamic range and colors, and effective stabilization.

About time for someone to introduce a phone with a larger sensor. Then you'll see a real improvement and not ones that are so small as to be within the margin of error.
