Galaxy S10 ships with pre-applied screen protector that has a three-month warranty

In the past few weeks there's been a lot of talk about Samsung's Galaxy S10 and S10+ and how they would be able to handle screen protectors given the ultrasonic in-display fingerprint sensor they employ, which hasn't been seen in another device yet.

The scanner's tech means not all plastic or glass screen protectors will allow you to authenticate in this way, which is obviously a complicating factor for would-be S10 owners. Thankfully, though, Samsung is taking a step in helping them with an unprecedented move - it's going to ship the phones with a pre-applied screen protector.

The Korean company has never done this before for its flagship line, although some of its Chinese competitors have in the past gone with similar moves. Obviously, the pre-applied screen protector won't affect the fingerprint sensor's usability. And yet it does that by having a cutout for the scanner, which might not be a perfect solution for everyone.

Still, it's a step towards customer satisfaction. Moreover, Samsung's pre-installed screen protector will be covered by a 90-day warranty. Other in-box accessories such as the travel adapter, USB cable, and AKG headset will remain under the regular one-year warranty. So if something goes wrong with the screen protector within three months of your purchase of the S10 or S10+, you can have it replaced for free. After that, it will cost you $29.99.

Ironically, you will get more scratches on it than leaving the original screen as it is.

Screen protector is a scam, maybe just to give you peace of mind. Some claiming to offer more protection are thick and stiff, hard to apply, especially on curved screen.
