Nokia 5.1 is the latest handset to get Android Pie update

Sagar, 19 March 2019

HMD Global has so far done a great job of updating its Nokia smartphone lineup to Android Pie. The company has released this latest version of Android for a total of five smartphones this year which include Nokia 3.1, 3.1 Plus, 5, 6, and 8 Sirocco. Today another smartphone joins this group - Nokia 5.1.

Android Pie brings in features like navigation gestures, adaptive brightness, adaptive battery, redesigned UI, and predictive app actions to Nokia 5.1. And, you can also expect it to get Android Q in the future as it was launched last May with the promise of version updates for two years.

That said, the Nokia smartphones that are next in line to get Android Pie are Nokia 1 and 3. These are scheduled to get Pie in early Q2 2019 so you may see a version update notification on your unit next month.
