Black Shark 2 gaming smartphone reaching Indian shores on May 27

Sagar, 18 May 2019

The Black Shark 2 gaming smartphone, which was announced in March, recently bagged the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) certification, hinting at an imminent launch in India. And we now know that this smartphone will debut on May 27 in India as the company has started sending out invites for its launch event.

In addition to selling gaming smartphones, Black Shark is reported to sell gaming peripherals like the Gamepad 2.0 controller in India, but there's no word on that from this Xiaomi-backed company.

Coming back to the Black Shark 2, it has a Snapdragon 855 SoC under the hood and is offered in three memory combos - 6GB/128GB, 8GB/256GB, and 12GB/256GB. It remains to be seen whether Black Shark brings all these variants in India.

The Black Shark 2 sports a 6.39-inch FHD+ Super AMOLED display and has a dual camera setup at the back consisting of 48MP and 12MP units. The smartphone packs a 4,000 mAh battery and comes with a vapor chamber cooling system that promises 14°C lower chipset temperature.

Talking about this phone's price, it starts at CNY3,200 in China which translates to INR32,537 according to current exchange rates. Hence, we expect it to be priced similarly in India.
