Redmi Note 7S official with 48MP camera and Snapdragon 660

After the Redmi Note 7 and Redmi Note 7 Pro, Xiaomi’s season of seven continues with the brand new Redmi Note 7S. The moto for the device is 48MP for everyone, highlighting its main selling point - the 48MP main camera. The Redmi Note 7 series has been doing very well in India reaching 2 million sales in just 2 months and now the company is trying to reach even more customers with its latest addition to the line.

The Redmi Note 7S features a 6.3-inch FHD+ display with a water drop notch for the 13MP selfie cam. The device comes with Corning Gorilla Glass 5 on the front and back while the sides are made from aluminum. Powering the phone is the Qualcomm 660 chipset with a CPU running at 2.2 GHz paired with either 3GB or 4GB RAM and 32/64GB storage, expandable via microSD.

The highlight of the phone is around the back with its main 48MP f/1.8 camera. It uses the familiar Quad Bayer layer merging 4 pixels into 1 for effective 12MP photos. The primary shooter is helped by a 5MP f/2.4 depth sensor and features Night Mode with multiple HDR exposures for better low light photography.

Battery wise we’re looking at a familiar 4,000 mAh cell with Quick Charge 4.0 support for 18W speeds. The box only includes a 10W charger though so if you need the higher speeds you’ll have to buy an extra adapter.

The Redmi Note 7S runs Android 9.0 with MIUI 10 on top. Other extras include an IR blaster, 3.5mm headphone jack and a P2i water repellent nano-coating.

The Redmi Note 7S will come in Onyx Black, Sapphire Blue and Ruby Red. Pricing starts at INR 10,999 ($158) for the 3/32GB model while the 4/64GB variant goes for INR 12,999 ($187). The device will be available starting May 23 online via Xiaomi’s website and Flipkart.

Well, they actually are though, on today's standards that is. You can consider anything above size of Nokia 8210 not compact but that doesn't change the fact that that when most manufacturers make their phones above 150 or even 160 mm height, phones ...
