Nokia 9 PureView had a Grey version that never came to be
The Nokia 9 PureView launched back in February in a single Midnight Blue color option but it appears Nokia had plans for a Grey model as well.
The Grey Nokia 9 PureView appeared in a video by Estonian YouTube channel Motors24ee where two reviewers handle and discuss it.
It's unclear whether HMD plans to release the Grey variant of the Nokia 9 PureView, but chances are it's just a prototype that never materialized.
In related news Nokia will release a firmware update soon to combat the poor in-display fingerprint scanner reliability on the Nokia 9 PureView.
The scanner was inconsistent and unresponsive in the beginning and a software update made it faster but also less secure (it would allow unregistered fingers to unlock the device).
Responding to a user on Twitter, HMD Chief Product Officer Juho Sarvikas revealed that the issues with the in-display scanner affect a narrow sample size of units and that a patch is coming shortly.
Hi! This issue manifests only in very narrow sample size. We been hard at work identifying root cause, fixing and most importantly testing since we take security very seriously. Expect a patch shortly.

@Levkion, It's not like that. There have been 3 of those in gray. Many have been done. In fact, I have 3 prototypes in gray.
