Xiaomi’s new CC series is here and the first phones from the line are the Mi CC9, Mi CC9e and Mi CC9 Meitu Edition. The devices aim to offer distinct features for different segments but are all focused on providing excellent selfies and large batteries.

Mi CC9

Starting off with the Xiaomi Mi CC9, it offers a balanced spec sheet with a 6.39-inch Super AMOLED display, Snapdragon 710 chipset and triple camera setup. Xiaomi claims its 32MP F/2.0 selfie camera is the best in its class.

The Mi CC9 features a dual-glass design with a metal frame in the middle. The back has an interesting light refracting finish which shifts color when hit by light. It weighs in at 179g and is 8.67mm thick.

Around the back the device sports on a triple camera setup with a 48MP F/1.8 main camera, 8MP ultrawide unit and a 2MP depth sensor.

The chipset inside the Mi CC9 is the Snapdragon 710 paired with 6 or 8 GB RAM and 64/128GB storage expandable via microSD.

Unsurprisingly the phone runs on Android Pie with MIUI 10 on top. The battery comes in at 4,030mAh and supports 18W fast charging. Other notable features include a 3.5mm headphones jack, NFC and an IR port.

The Xiaomi Mi CC9 will be up for pre-orders later today while official sales start on July 5. It will be available in White, Blue and Black variants with more color options expected in the future. Pricing starts at CNY 1,799($260) for the 6GB/64GB model and goes up to CNY 1,999 ($290) for the 6GB/128GB variant.

Mi CC9e

The second device in the CC line is the CC9e. The “e” here stands for Essential Edition and Xiaomi claims it offers all the major function of the regular CC9 in a smaller form factor.

The cameras on the front and back are the same as the larger counterpart but the display is downscaled to 6 inches and 1560 x 720 px resolution. It retains the AMOLED technology and UD fingerprint sensor as well as the battery capacity.
