Top 10 trending phones of week 28

Chip, 14 July 2019

It's summer and the stream of new announcements has been reduced to a trickle. This means there's relative stability in our trending chart and the top 3 remain unchanged for the third week in a row.

The Samsung Galaxy A50 gets yet another gold medal, while the Galaxy A70 and the Xiaomi Redmi Note 7 get the silver and bronze.

Then we have the Redmi K20 Pro, which regains the fourth position ahead of the Galaxy A30, which gains its second position in two week to claim fifth.

The two new names on the chart are both phones yet to become official with the Huawei nova 5i Pro turning more heads and capturing sixth. The other is the Realme 3i, which is sitting in ninth, but certainly hoping to do better next week as it debuts on Monday.

Between those we have the Xiaomi Mi CC9 and the Samsung Galaxy A20. Last week the CC9 was only the second best member of the series on the chart, but now it's on the rise and the CC9e dropped off entirely.

The final spot on the chart goes to the Xiaomi Mi 9T, which is clearly on a downwards trajectory, following seventh last week and fifth the week before.

It still did better than the Samsung Galaxy M40, which dropped off entirely along with the CC9e. The two new names along with the relegation of a couple of phones by the two dominant players mean we have one of the more diverse editions lately with four makers being represented in the top 10.

Nokia still my favorite

True, though I don't think it's possible to hit the J7 levels of popularity, since now there are so many other options within a few short years

That kinda marks something historic. Xiaomi controls budget Samsung controls mid-range Huawei controls high tier Three companies truly dominating.
