Huawei Mate 30 camera to have two 40 MP shooters

Yordan, 01 August 2019

Huawei is expected to release the Mate 30 and Mate 30 Pro sometime this fall, if the US-China trade war does not go in flames. The phones are likely to keep a square camera setup on the back like the Mate 20 series, and according to one leakster, the vanilla option will have a 40 MP + 40 MP + 8 MP combo.

The 40 MP sensor will have 1/1.5” size with aperture around f/1.6, but it might become even bigger - f/1.4. The main shooter will be coupled with RYYB pixel layout, which is something seen in the Huawei P30 Pro flagship. It will also support various Cine lens features, similar to the Xperia 1 Cinema Pro capabilities.

The other 40 MP camera will be for ultra-wide-angle photos. Usually these type of shots are not the best of quality, but if the rumor is true, Huawei might have a surprise in its sleeve. The FOV will be 120 degrees and the sensor will be 1/1.7” in size. The third camera is an 8 MP sensor with a telephoto lens, but this time it will have 5X zoom - another common feature with the P30 Pro.

Other rumored specs for the Huawei Mate 30 are a Kirin 985 chipset with integrated 5G modem, 55W fast-charging support and 10W wireless reverse charging. Only time will tell if these are the real deal and if the phone will arrive at all.

Change the color scheme or adjust live brightness

Source or it's fake news.

My wife has the P30pro and she is very unhappy with the RYYB sensor. She loves taking sunset pictures and is unable to do so. The sensor simply paints everything yellowish and whitish instead of the lovely red/pink color we all love from sunsets...
