Facebook too may hide the Like count from your posts
Back in July, Instagram started hiding the like counts from the posts because it wants your followers to "focus on the photos and videos you share, not on how many likes they get". It seems Instagram has received positive feedback, hence, its parent Facebook may also start hiding the Like counts from the posts.
This information comes to us from reverse engineering expert Jane Wong who spotted this change in the source code of Facebook's Android app.
Facebook's Like-hiding feature works similarly to Instagram's - only the author of the post can see the total Likes while others can only see the name of the mutual friends who liked the post.
Wong reports that the Like/Reaction count on the comments are visible, but that's probably because the feature is still under development.
Facebook has confirmed that it's considering removing the Like counts from posts but hasn't shared any information about when this feature will go live for all the users.

Yeah, most people are addicted but what with those who check if something is good based on likes?
