Some Android 10 phones are getting Dark mode for the Google Play Store

Peter, 11 September 2019

Google has been hard at work adding dark mode to its core apps. The latest to get it is the Play Store. This is based on the new features of Android 10, which started rolling out to Pixels just over a week ago (also, betas are available for a few non-Google phones). Those of you still running Pie are stuck with the bright white background for now.

Note that this seems to be a staged rollout so even if you are one of the few lucky ones to already by running Android 10, you may have to wait a bit longer for the Store’s dark mode to become available.

We had dark mode on Pie and even on Nougat if you installed themes. (OneUI and Samsung Experience UX.)
