vivo Y5s unveiled in China - a rebranded Y19

Chinese phone maker vivo has announced a new mid-ranger dubbed vivo Y5s, which is actually a rebranded Y19 launched in Thailand and Vietnam last week.

The vivo Y5s is built around a 6.53" FHD+ display that has a notch up top for the 16MP selfie camera.

Around the back, the phone has a fingerprint reader keeping company to the triple camera setup (16MP main, 8MP ultrawide, and 2MP macro units). The ultrawide camera lets you capture pictures with an FOV of 120 degrees, while the macro camera allows photography of objects from as close as 4cm.

Under the hood, the vivo Y5s has a Helio P65 SoC with 6GB RAM and 128GB storage. On the software side, the smartphone runs Android Pie-based Funtouch OS 9.2 out of the box and comes with features like Game Cube, Multi Turbo, and AI-based digital assistant Jovi.

The vivo Y5s is offered in three colors and packs a 5,000 mAh battery with 18W fast charging and 5W reverse charging support.

The Y5s will be sold in China for CNY1,498 ($215/€190), but its sale date is currently unknown.
