Kaloyan Ivanov, 03 January 2020

After a lengthy leak marathon today Samsung introduced the Galaxy S10 Lite and Galaxy Note10 Lite. Both are built around 6.7" FullHD+ Infinity-O displays and pack 4,500mAh batteries with 25W fast charging support.

The Samsung Galaxy S10 Lite is powered by a 7nm chipset featuring an octa-core CPU that has its clusters running at 2.8GHz, 2.4GHz and 1.7GHz. While not explicitly confirmed it matches the Snapdragon 855 perfectly. The platform will be coupled with 6GB or 8 GB RAM and 128GB storage. A microSD card slot enables further storage expansion.

The features a trio of cameras - main 48MP shooter with f/2.0 aperture, 123-degree FoV ultrawide angle f/2.2 lens sitting in front of a 12MP sensor and a 5MP macro shooter. The front-facing camera in the punch hole has a 32MP sensor and an f/2.2 lens.

More excitingly the Galaxy S10 Lite is the first Samsung phone to feature the company's new Super Steady OIS for its main camera, which is said to offer even better stabilization than its flagships.

The Samsung Galaxy Note10 Lite comes complete with an S Pen with Air Command support. On the front it has the exact same 32MP camera embedded in the punch hole on its 6.7” FullHD+ display.

The company didn't reveal the actual chipset inside this one, but confirmed it is built on a 10nm process and comes with an octa-core CPU with four cores at 2.7 GHz and four more at 1.7 GHz. This sounds like an Exynos 9810 with slightly downclocked CPU. RAM is again 6/8GB and the storage is 128GB, but you can add to it via microSD cards.

There are three cameras on the back - 12 MP f/1.7 main shooter with Dual Pixel AF and OIS, 12 MP f/2.2 ultrawide angle cam and a 12 MP f/2.4 telephoto snapper.

Interestingly enough the Samsung Galaxy Note10 Lite comes with a 3.5mm audio jack - something the regular Galaxy Note10 phones lacked. Conversely the Galaxy S10 Lite lacks a legacy audio port even though all three Galaxy S10 phones so far had it.

The Galaxy S10 Lite and Galaxy Note10 Lite will ship with Android 10 out of the box that has One UI 2 on top.

The first one will be sold in Prism White, Prism Black, or Prism Blue color, while the latter will be offered in either Aura Glow, Aura Black, or Aura Red paint jobs.

The phones will go on sale by the end of Q1. The Galaxy Note10 Lite will cost €599, while the Galaxy S10 Lite is €649.

Why didn't it just run on Go-edition?

Ouch, that is a shame. Luckily I only think of the Note10 Lite, not sure about the S10 Lite's macro camera.
