Sagar, 20 February 2020

Realme will unveil the X50 Pro 5G on February 24 through simultaneous events in Madrid, Spain and New Delhi, India. The company has already revealed most of the phone's specs, but not the price.

However, according to a report by the Press Trust of India (PTI) citing a company official, the X50 Pro 5G will be priced around INR50,000 in India, which is around $700/€645 at current exchange rates.

Realme X50 Pro 5G rumored to cost around INR50,000 in India

Realme is known for aggressively pricing its smartphones so this price increase might prove to be a downer for some. But that's hardly a surprise since the X50 Pro 5G will come with a Snapdragon 865 SoC and Snapdragon X55 5G modem.

That said, it's currently unclear whether this is the price of the 12GB/256GB model which will likely be the top-end version, or some other variant with a different memory configuration.

For comparison, the company's first flagship - X2 Pro - starts at INR27,999 ($390/€360) in India with 6GB RAM and 64GB storage and goes to INR33,999 ($475/€440) for the 12GB/256GB model. And if you decide to go for the Master Edition having the same memory configuration, you'll have to shell out INR1,000 ($14/€13) more.

The PTI report, citing an unknown "leading website", further says that another 5G smartphone from Realme with a "lower chipset version" could be priced at INR25,790 ($360/€335) in India.

Now the only other 5G smartphone that Realme has right now with a lower-tier SoC is the X50 5G, which is currently sold in China with a base price of CNY2,499 (INR25,500/$355/€330).

It's unclear whether Realme will announce the X50 5G for the Indian market on February 24. We reached out to Realme India for clarification but the company denied any comment.
