HMD to introduce new Nokia phones on March 19

Michail, 04 March 2020

Following the cancellation of MWC, several smartphone manufacturers were forced to change their upcoming device announcement plans. HMD Global was one of those companies and we were left in the dark as to when the new Nokia phones would be launched. Thanks to a new tweet from HMD Global VP Juho Sarvikas, we now have an event to look forward to which will take place on March 19 in London.

The short promo does come with a James Bond twist which hints at a possible collaboration with the storied movie franchise. There are rumors about limited edition Bond accessories for Nokia handsets as well as some speculation on a “007 edition" Nokia phone.

As to what we can expect, we should see the company’s first 5G handset - the Nokia 8.2 5G tipped to come with the Snapdragon 765G chipset. Alongside it, we should be getting a new midrange Nokia 5.2 and entry-level Nokia 1.3. As usual, we’ll make sure to update you with more intel leading up to the event.
