Samsung Galaxy S20’s second OTA update brings camera improvements

Enrique, 06 March 2020

Samsung is now rolling out OTA update number two for the Samsung Galaxy S20 lineup in South Korea. Samsung released the first OTA update last week for the Galaxy S20 Ultra, addressing camera quality, auto flash function, and added the March security patch.

A new update is now rolling out to all three variants of the Galaxy S20 which will use about 250MB of data if you decide to download it out of Wi-Fi range. The update will bring further improvements to camera quality, following lukewarm reception from the initial wave of reviews of the Galaxy S20 –particularly due to inconsistent behavior of autofocus.

The firmware versions G981NKSU1ATC2, G986NKSU1ATC2, and G988NKSU1ATC2 for the S20, S20+, and S20 Ultra (respectively) are arriving to handsets now, but it may take a little longer before markets outside of South Korea will receive the update.

According to TizenHelp, users are reporting improved function of both autofocus and manual focusing on the Galaxy S20 Ultra. The update also mentions improvement of gesture navigation on the device. Head to Settings > Software Update to manually check for available updates.
